Moldova drops Kalashnikov rifles

The Moldovan army has abandoned the Russian-made Kalashnikov assault rifle.

Axar.az informs that Sputnik reported on this.

It was reported that Moldovan Defense Minister Anatoly Nosatiy linked this to the army's transition to NATO standards:

"Finally, we will switch to Western weapons, NATO calibers, which will give us access to ammunition and spare parts."
