300-year-old Ardabil map donated from Germany -

A map of the city of Ardabil, dating back 300 years, has been purchased from Germany and donated to the Cultural Heritage Organization of Ardabil province.

Axar.az informs that local media reported on this.

According to the information, this was the result of the work of Azerbaijani doctor and surgeon Muhammad Shariat, who has been living in Germany for 40 years.

"The map and pictures reflecting the state of Ardabil 300 years ago were compiled by European travelers of that time and have been kept in some museums and private collections to this day," the doctor said.

Saying that he had a store in the historical Uch Dukan district of Ardabil before leaving for Germany, Muhammad Shariat said that he purchased these maps and photos at his own expense and donated them to his hometown:

"Despite living in Germany, my unforgettable childhood and youth memories of Ardabil prompted me to take this step."
