Iran protests escalate: Flag torn down in Mashhad - Video

Protesters in Iran have torn down and lowered the national flag in Mashhad, the country's second-largest city.

Axar.az reports that this is the latest incident that shows the scale of the protests in the country.

According to reports, protesters have previously seized control of three cities. The last of them was the city of Karaj, which is considered an important transport hub connecting Tehran with the Caspian Sea and other regions.
