The European Union is considering further sanctions against Iran in response to the violent crackdown against protesters.

Axar.az reports, citing DW, "We stand ready to propose new, more severe sanctions following the violent crackdown on protesters," EU spokesman Anouar El Anouni said on Monday.

The EU has previously imposed numerous sanctions against Iran for human rights violations, selling drones and missiles to Russia, and its nuclear program.
