Germany to boost Arctic security efforts

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz met with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Fredrik Nielsen and said that Germany will make more efforts to ensure the security of the Arctic region.

Axar.az reports that the meeting took place within the framework of the annual economic conference organized by the newspaper "Die Welt" in Berlin.

The talks were dedicated to the current situation around Greenland.

"Europe has woken up. The European Union has contributed to the successful negotiations on Greenland. As a NATO partner, Germany will strengthen its commitment to ensuring security in the Arctic. I have informed Mette Frederiksen and Jens-Fredrik Nielsen about this," Merz noted.
