Journalist alleges abuse of women protesters in Iran

A German-Iranian journalist, Michel Abdollahi, has reported that women in Iran are being abducted, raped, and mutilated for protesting against the regime, according to eyewitness accounts.

Axar.az reports citing Daily Mail.

Abdollahi said these acts, allegedly carried out by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), aim to instill fear and suppress dissent, with children reportedly also targeted.

The claims come amid nationwide protests in Iran, where women have defied laws by removing their hijabs, riding motorbikes, and burning images of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. In response to the EU listing the IRGC as a terrorist organization, Iran summoned European ambassadors and labeled all EU militaries as terrorist groups.

Meanwhile, the US has deployed the USS Abraham Lincoln and guided-missile destroyers to the Middle East as tensions rise, though it remains unclear if military action will be taken. Videos shared via Starlink show Iranian forces reportedly using violence against protesters, while the IRGC continues military drills in the Strait of Hormuz.
