Police detain around 100 people in St. Petersburg - Video

Russian police detained around 100 people during a punk music festival in the Vyborgsky District of Leningrad Oblast near the Finnish border.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that the raid targeted the Day x Night festival, where punk bands from St. Petersburg and Karelia were scheduled to perform.

Authorities said the event was held under the guise of a music festival and accused participants of having radical left-wing views.

According to law enforcement, the raid was prompted by suspicions that participants were performing songs in support of Ukraine, advocating a change of power in Russia and engaging in mass drug use.

Police searched tents for drugs and examined posters featuring Ukrainian symbols displayed near the makeshift stage. Quadcopters were also confiscated because their use is prohibited in the border zone.

The detainees included both festival participants and organizers.
