Russia faces gasoline shortage, but diesel supply stable

Russia is not experiencing supply problems with diesel fuel or kerosene, while shortages remain limited to gasoline.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Sunday.

“Diesel is sufficient, agriculture is supplied, the northern delivery is also supplied, and there is also enough kerosene. The problems are only with gasoline. As for diesel fuel and kerosene — there are no problems,” Novak said.

He also said the Russian government was continuously working to strengthen the protection of oil refineries.

The government recently changed rules governing fuel sales on the exchange, allowing confirmed targeted deliveries to socially significant consumers to count toward mandatory supply requirements.

The measure will remain in effect until the end of 2026.
