Orban accuses Ukraine of funding Hungarian opposition

Ukraine is financing the Hungarian opposition and interfering in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Hungary.

Axar.az informs, citing TASS, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban made these remarks while responding to journalists’ questions about the increasing attacks and insults from Vladimir Zelensky.

Speaking at a press conference after meeting U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Budapest, the Hungarian leader said that Ukrainians have decided to become “active players” in the current Hungarian election campaign because “the election results matter to them.”

“They are taking part in this campaign using all their resources. We know they are financing our opponents, and we know how it’s happening,” Orban said, adding that the Ukrainians “will also have to be defeated,” just like the opposition.
