Iran fires Sayyad-3 missile in Strait of Hormuz drill

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has test-fired a naval version of its long-range Sayyad-3 air defense missile during a large-scale military exercise in the Strait of Hormuz.

Axar.az, citing Mehr news agency, reports that the missile, identified as the Sayyad-3G naval variant, was launched for the first time from the warship Shahid Sayyad Shirazi as part of the “Smart Control of the Strait of Hormuz” drill.

Iranian officials described the launch as a successful operational deployment, highlighting Tehran’s efforts to strengthen its sea-based air defense capabilities in the strategically vital waterway.
