Iraq has reached an agreement to purchase 20 air defence systems from Turkiye to help protect its oil fields and diplomatic missions.
Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that Iraq’s Deputy Army Chief of Staff for Operations Saad Harbiye announced the deal during the SAHA Expo in Istanbul.
Harbiye said Iraq’s airspace is heavily affected by drone activity and noted that the new systems would play a key role in countering those threats.
Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
