Turkish official warns Iran against regional threats

Turkiye’s airspace and border security are maintained at the highest level of readiness and capability.

Axar.az reports that this statement was made by Burhaneddin Duran, head of the Communications Department of the Turkish Presidential Administration, on March 9 in response to a ballistic missile launched from Iran.

He emphasized that Turkiye places great importance on preventing further escalation and stopping conflicts from spreading across the region.

“We reiterate strongly to all parties, including Iran, to refrain from actions that threaten regional security or endanger civilians,” Duran said.

He also urged citizens and media organizations to be cautious about content that could cause public panic or spread disinformation and to rely only on official statements.

The missile launched from Iran on March 9 was intercepted by NATO air defense systems in Turkiye’s Gaziantep province.
