“As Turkiye, we are not a country that remains indifferent to crises around us or turns its back on friends and brothers in times of crisis,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, commenting on the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran.

Axar.az reports that he stressed the war must be stopped before it grows and sets the entire region on fire.

“Given the sensitivity of the current process, we are speaking very carefully. We are acting cautiously to protect Turkiye from the fire surrounding it,” he said.

Erdogan added that Turkiye has never looked — and does not look — at the brotherly Iranian people or anyone in the region by saying, “this one is Shia, this one is Sunni, this one is Turk, this one is Kurd.”

“We reject discrimination based on race, sect, religion, language, or origin. We do not have a religion called Sunnism or Shiism. We have only one religion, and that is Islam,” he emphasized.
