U.S. ground operation in Iran could mirror Vietnam

A possible ground operation in Iran would threaten the USA with the same outcome as the Vietnam conflict.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev spoke about the consequences of such a step.

"Entering such a ground operation so far from the U.S. could lead to roughly the same results as what happened in Vietnam. Washington intervened in a foreign country located thousands of miles away and could not find a decent way out of that conflict for ten years," Medvedev stated.

He added that a U.S. ground operation in Iran, if implemented, would lead to fatal consequences for the region and all parties to the conflict.

It should be noted that claims have spread that U.S. President Donald Trump has approved a ground operation in Iran.
