Pakistan resumes military operations against Afghanistan

Pakistan has resumed its military operations against Afghanistan following a temporary pause for Eid al-Fitr.

Axar.az reports, citing Arab News, the pause, which lasted from March 18–24, was announced at the request of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkiye.

The resumed campaign, named Operation “Ghazab Lil Haq” (Wrath for Truth), is reported to be a targeted effort against militant leadership, logistics networks, and other facilitators in Taliban-controlled areas, according to the official.

Pakistan has warned that operations will continue until its objectives are met and the Taliban reviews its support for groups responsible for cross-border attacks—accusations Kabul denies.

Over recent weeks, both countries have exchanged airstrikes and ground fire along their 2,600-kilometer border, with each claiming significant damage and casualties. Meanwhile, religious leaders from both nations, as well as countries including China and Iran, have called for restraint and the extension of the ceasefire to reduce tensions.
