US Embassy in Jordan issues security alert for Americans

The U.S. Embassy in Jordan has urged American citizens in the Middle East to remain on high alert amid rising regional tensions.

Axar.az reports that the embassy said in a statement posted on X that the security environment remains highly volatile, with the potential for further escalation.

It also urged Americans outside the Middle East to reconsider travel to and through the region and to closely monitor airport operations, airline updates, and official travel advisories.

The embassy noted that U.S. diplomatic facilities and American interests abroad have previously been targeted, warning that Iran and Iran-backed groups could target U.S. businesses, institutions, and other interests worldwide.

The statement also advised Americans in Jordan to avoid travel to military bases, noting that Iran has previously targeted civilian and critical infrastructure across the Middle East, including hotels, airports, and other civilian sites.

U.S. citizens were urged to follow instructions issued by Jordanian authorities, including sirens and emergency warnings, and to continue monitoring updates from the U.S. Embassy.
