Ukraine strikes Ufa refinery, military sites in Crimea

The Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out overnight strikes on August 1 targeting the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim oil refinery in Ufa, the capital of Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as several military facilities in Crimea and southern Ukraine.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, that according to reports, the strike triggered a fire at the refinery in Ufa.

The Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim refinery, located in Ufa's northern industrial zone, is part of the Bashneft group owned by Rosneft. The facility processes up to 8.2 million tons of crude oil annually, producing motor fuels, petroleum coke, liquefied gas, sulfur, and aromatic hydrocarbons.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also said several Russian military sites in Crimea and southern Ukraine were targeted.

One of the main targets was a base for unmanned naval drones in the town of Chornomorske, Crimea. According to the Ukrainian military, the facility was used to store, maintain, and prepare vessels involved in combat and special operations in the Black Sea.

The General Staff also reported strikes on the Syvash railway bridge near Chonhar and another railway bridge near Vladyslavivka, describing them as key logistics routes used to transport personnel, military equipment, weapons, and ammunition between occupied Crimea and Russian-controlled areas in southern Ukraine.

Ukraine also claimed to have struck a Russian Black Sea Fleet radio-electronic intelligence unit in Sevastopol.

In addition, Ukrainian forces reported hitting a repair and maintenance base in Pervomaiske District in Crimea, a logistics warehouse near Podove in the Russian-controlled part of Kherson Region, and a drone storage facility near Tokmak in Zaporizhzhia Region.
