There is no mandatory mobilization of women in Ukraine, and recent information campaigns should not be interpreted negatively, Ukrainian officials say.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, head of the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Andriy Podik, stated: "The posters seen in various cities across Ukraine are part of a recruitment and information campaign for the defense forces. Joining the army is a voluntary choice for women."

The statement comes amid intensified Russian propaganda claiming Ukraine plans to mobilize up to one million women and lower the age threshold to 18.
