'Halfwaya Across' examines illegal migration networks - Video

The documentary “Halfway Across,” a joint project by the State Security Service of Azerbaijan and AnewZ, was recently broadcast on AnewZ and AzTV.

Axar.az reports that the film examines the system behind migrant smuggling, from recruitment and transportation to the legal and social consequences that follow.

The documentary also reflects warnings issued by the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which says Azerbaijani citizens involved in organised migrant smuggling abroad face criminal responsibility, particularly when the lives and health of others are put at risk.

Why have Azerbaijanis been detained overseas? Who is behind the networks facilitating illegal migration?

“Halfway Across” sheds light on these questions.
