Three detained after incident at Yerevan church

A criminal case has been initiated in connection with today’s incident at Saint Anna Church in Yerevan under Article 297.1 (hooliganism) and Article 452.3 (interference with the lawful political activities of an official) of Armenia’s Criminal Code.

Axar.az reports, citing the Armenian Investigative Committee, three individuals have been detained in relation to the incident.

It was reported that two of those detained are twin brothers and school students.

It should be noted that earlier today, during the Tsakhkazard (Palm Sunday) liturgy, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was present at the church when a young man attempted to strike him.
