Iran: No direct talks with U.S. during ongoing conflict

Iran has not held any direct negotiations with the United States during the 31 days of ongoing conflict.

Axar.az reports, citing Tasnim, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, said that the only communications received were via intermediaries, including Pakistan, conveying U.S. proposals for talks.

“Iran’s position has been clear from the start, and we know our framework. The requests conveyed to us were excessive and unreasonable,” the spokesperson added.

The ministry emphasized that while regional countries may be concerned about ending the war, it is important to recognize which side initiated the conflict.
