Iran rejects ceasefire, seeks full halt to war

Iran will only consider a full halt to attacks across the region rather than a limited ceasefire.

Axar.az reports, “I receive messages from [U.S. Special Envoy Steve] Witkoff directly, as before, and this does not mean that we are in negotiations,” Araghchi said in an interview with Al Jazeera.

He added that communications with the U.S. have primarily occurred through the Foreign Ministry and involve security discussions rather than diplomatic negotiations.

“There is no truth to the claim of negotiations with any party in Iran. All messages are conveyed through the Foreign Ministry or received by it, and there are communications between security agencies.”

He also added that Tehran has not made any decision about negotiating with Washington as it has reservations about them.
