Argentina officially labels IRGC as terrorist group

The Argentine government has officially designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.

Axar.az informs that Argentine officials made the announcement.

The decision is linked to IRGC’s support for Lebanon’s Hezbollah, which was accused of carrying out a terrorist attack in Buenos Aires in 1994.

The new designation allows the implementation of financial sanctions against IRGC and additional operational restrictions on the corps’ activities.

It should be noted that the attack occurred on July 18, 1994, targeting the building of the Asociacion Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA), owned by the Argentine Jewish community. The explosion killed 85 people and injured more than 300 others.
