Axar.az reports, citing IRIB, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Iranian Navy made the statements.

Referring to the U.S. military presence in regional waters, including the aircraft carrier group “Abraham Lincoln,” Irani claimed that the Iranian Navy had carried out missile operations against the vessel, temporarily preventing it from conducting air operations.

He added that although the vessel returned after repairs and with additional destroyers deployed, this did not enable the United States to achieve its objectives in the region.
