Lukashenko warns Ukraine amid drone target claims

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has issued a new warning to Ukraine after comments from Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, escalating rhetoric between Minsk and Kyiv.

Axar.az reports, citing RBC-Ukraine, Brovdi had previously claimed that Ukrainian forces had identified 500 potential targets in Belarusian territory, prompting a sharp response from Lukashenko.

“They may have identified 500 targets. We are grateful that they have 500 targets on our territory. But we have one very serious target with precise coordinates, far from Belarus,” Lukashenko said, without providing further details.

He dismissed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s warnings about a possible Belarusian threat as “nonsense,” and accused Ukrainian forces of avoiding confrontation with Belarus.

Lukashenko also repeated derogatory remarks about Ukrainian troops, referring to some units as “cannon fodder,” while insisting Ukraine would not risk opening a new front along its northern border.

The exchange comes amid heightened tensions along the Belarus–Ukraine frontier, with both sides increasingly trading accusations over drone activity and military provocations.
