Lavrov says US unsure how to handle Iran

The United States is uncomfortable with the situation surrounding Iran and does not know how to get out of it, despite initially taking what appeared to be an ambitious approach.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an interview with Izvestia.

"At one point, President Donald Trump said, 'We will destroy Iran as a civilization.' That was quite an ambitious claim. There is no doubt that such a goal is unattainable," Lavrov said.

"It is no coincidence that the United States, judging by its statements and actions, clearly understands the difficulties of the situation and feels uncomfortable with it, not knowing how to resolve it," he added.
