President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Axar.az reports, citing Akorda, that the Kazakh leader congratulated the American president on the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, noting that in the relatively short span of three generations, the country has become a powerful global force.
President Tokayev said that the policy of common sense underlying the U.S. administration's domestic agenda is, in essence, in line with Kazakhstan's strategy of building a Just Kazakhstan based on the principle of "Law and Order." He therefore expressed support for President Trump's policies.
During the conversation, the two leaders exchanged views on bilateral economic cooperation and political relations. Tokayev highlighted the strong progress in implementing key agreements reached during his visit to Washington in November last year.
The Kazakh president also reaffirmed his country's unwavering position on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and enriched uranium, as well as the importance of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to strengthen the international safeguards regime.
In addition, Tokayev spoke positively about his recent meetings in Akorda with U.S. Senator Steve Daines, U.S. presidential envoy Sergio Gor, and other senior White House officials and representatives of the American business community.
Tokayev invited Donald Trump to visit Kazakhstan at a time convenient for him.
