Portugal have appointed a new head coach for the national football team.
Axar.az reports that the Portuguese Football Federation announced the decision on its official website.
According to the statement, Jorge Jesus has been appointed to the role. The 71-year-old Portuguese coach replaces Roberto Martinez at the helm of the national team.
Jesus will lead Portugal through the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Portugal, Spain, and Morocco.
It should be noted that Portugal were eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a 1-0 defeat to Spain in the round of 16. Roberto Martinez resigned following the match.
