Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei will be buried in Mashhad on July 9.

Axar.az reports, citing the official website of the late supreme leader, that farewell ceremonies for Ayatollah Khamenei will be held on July 4–5 at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla in Tehran.

The funeral procession will then continue in Tehran on July 6–7, followed by ceremonies in the holy city of Qom on July 8.

The final funeral rites and burial are scheduled to take place in Mashhad on July 9, in accordance with his will.

The announcement also notes that separate ceremonies will be held for members of his family, and that the events will include mourning processions in Tehran, Qom, and Mashhad over several days.
