Ukraine’s General Staff said on Saturday that its forces carried out a coordinated long-range drone operation targeting Russian energy infrastructure in the Volgograd region, striking a key oil processing and pumping facility near Kotovo.
Axar.az reports, citing Kyiv Post, the attack hit a major oil preparation station near the settlement of Yefimovka, triggering a large industrial fire that was later confirmed through satellite monitoring.
Local officials initially described the blaze as the result of falling drone debris, but Ukrainian sources said the strike directly damaged a critical oil pumping station that processes crude from the Korobkovskoye field and nearby deposits before feeding it into Russia’s main pipeline network.
The facility is a key node in Russia’s oil transport system, supplying domestic refineries and export routes.
Separately, Ukraine’s General Staff said its forces also struck multiple Russian command posts and frontline military positions across several sectors, as part of what it described as a broader campaign targeting logistics and command-and-control infrastructure.
Ukrainian officials did not immediately provide independent verification of the extent of the damage in the Russian-occupied territories.
