Kennedy Center removes Trump's name following court order

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has fully removed President Donald Trump's name from its building after a court-ordered deadline, Executive Director Matt Floca confirmed on Saturday.

Axar.az reports, citing CNN, workers dismantled the signage overnight after a judge granted the center additional time to comply with a ruling requiring Trump's name to be removed from the building, website, and promotional materials.

The work was delayed by severe thunderstorms on Friday.

The removal marks a setback for Trump's efforts to reshape the Kennedy Center, where he installed loyalists after taking control of the institution's board during his second term. The signage had been added in December following a board vote honoring the president.

Supporters of the legal challenge welcomed the move. Democratic Rep. Joyce Beatty, who helped lead the lawsuit, said opponents would continue defending the Kennedy Center's original identity.

The legal battle is not over, however, as appeals court proceedings continue over the broader dispute surrounding the name change and related fundraising issues.
