US–Iran high-level meeting planned in Switzerland next week

A direct meeting between senior U.S. and Iranian officials is expected to take place in Switzerland next week.

Axar.az reports, citing BFMTV, the talks would involve two high-level representatives from both countries, with Pakistan’s foreign minister expected to travel to Switzerland in advance to help prepare the meeting.

Switzerland has been acting as a mediator in the conflict in recent weeks.

The development comes after President Donald Trump announced over the weekend that a deal with Iran could be signed imminently, though Iranian officials have pushed back on the timeline, saying only a framework agreement is possible in the coming days rather than within 24 hours.

The planned talks would mark a rare direct engagement between Washington and Tehran as negotiations continue over the broader regional conflict and nuclear-related concerns.

The agenda of the upcoming talks has not yet been disclosed.
