Starmer backs Trump's Iran peace efforts in phone call

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer voiced support for U.S. President Donald Trump's efforts to end the conflict with Iran during a phone call on Saturday.

Axar.az reports, citing Starmer's office, that he welcomed progress toward a potential agreement and stressed that any deal must deliver a "durable and lasting peace."

He also reiterated that the United Kingdom stands ready to help implement a future peace accord and work with international partners to ensure its success.

The two leaders agreed on the importance of restoring freedom of navigation to reduce global economic disruption and pledged to remain in close contact ahead of next week's G7 summit in France.
