Tehran seeks stronger trade ties with regional states

Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and parliament will cooperate to strengthen economic diplomacy and facilitate trade relations with regional countries.

Axar.az reports, citing IRIB, that this was stated following a meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, members of parliament’s Economic Commission, and the Economic Diplomacy Committee.

During the meeting, key issues related to economic diplomacy, the development of trade and foreign investment, ways to expand non-oil exports, and the use of provincial and economic diplomacy capacities in support of the national economy were discussed.

Araghchi outlined the Foreign Ministry’s activities and plans in the field of economic diplomacy and emphasized the ministry’s readiness to work closely with parliament to achieve the country’s economic goals and expand international economic relations.

Participants also stressed the importance of coordination between parliament and the Foreign Ministry to remove barriers facing economic actors, facilitate trade with regional countries, and make full use of Iran’s diplomatic missions in the economic sphere.
