Financing for Ukraine among key topics at G7 summit

The European Union will discuss how to cover Ukraine’s remaining financial needs for 2026–2027 at the G7 summit in Evian.

Axar.az reports that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen made the remarks.

“Our €90 billion loan package covers two-thirds of Ukraine’s financing needs for this year and for the next year. The first disbursements will come still this month, and for the remaining third we need Ukraine’s partners to step up. This will be a topic at this summit,” she said.

Von der Leyen also noted that the EU is continuing Ukraine’s integration into Europe, including the opening of the first cluster in the accession negotiations.
