Russian President Putin holds talks with Turkish FM Fidan

Russian President Vladimir Putin received Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on the sidelines of the Russia–ASEAN Summit in Kazan.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, Fidan, who is visiting Russia on June 16–17 at the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, met with Putin after requesting talks with the Russian leader, a request that was granted by the Kremlin.

Prior to the meeting, Fidan held discussions with Lavrov and Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu. Among other issues, the talks focused on Ukraine, with the Turkish foreign minister reiterating Ankara's readiness to host further Russia–Ukraine negotiations and stressing the importance of a return to diplomacy.
