China supports Iran’s legitimate demands and efforts to safeguard its sovereignty and security.
Axar.az reports, citing IRIB, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi made the remarks during a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi.
Wang Yi expressed China’s support for the memorandum of understanding reached between Iran and the United States and emphasized the need for its full and effective implementation. He said Beijing is ready to cooperate in facilitating the implementation of the agreement, strengthening regional cooperation, and helping address existing challenges among countries in the region.
The Chinese foreign minister also praised Iran’s approach to resolving issues through diplomacy and dialogue, while appreciating what he described as Tehran’s resistance to pressure and coercive policies.
Araghchi briefed Wang Yi on the details of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, expressing hope that Iran and China could use the opportunities created by the agreement to expand bilateral cooperation, particularly in the energy and economic sectors.
The two sides also stressed the importance of international support for the memorandum and highlighted the role of the UN Security Council in supporting its implementation.
