Former Russian Defense Minister died at 73

Former Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov has died.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, Ivanov was 73.

It should be noted that on February 4 this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed Ivanov from his post as Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport. On February 16, he was removed from the Russian Security Council.

Ivanov worked alongside Putin in the KGB and later in Russia's foreign intelligence service. During his career, he served as Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Defense Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Head of the Presidential Administration.
