Turkiye denies claims of Ankara curfew during NATO summit

Turkiye's Directorate of Communications' Center for Countering Disinformation (DMM) has denied claims circulating on social media that a two-day curfew will be imposed in Ankara during the NATO Summit on July 7-8.

Axar.az reports, citing Anadolu, the DMM said there is no decision to impose a curfew as part of the 36th NATO Heads of State and Government Summit.

It also warned that legal action is being taken against those spreading false claims intended to create panic and uncertainty ahead of the summit.

The DMM urged the public to rely only on official sources for accurate and up-to-date information.

Meanwhile, the NATO summit in Ankara will be held under heightened security. Approximately 70,000 law enforcement officers will be deployed to maintain public order. More than 30 streets will be temporarily closed, and strict traffic controls will be enforced on several major roads to facilitate the movement of official delegations and summit participants.
