Kazakh President and Georgian PM hold talks in Astana

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze held talks in Astana.

Axar.az reports, citing the Akorda presidential press service, that following the talks, Tokayev and Kobakhidze adopted a Joint Statement on the Establishment of a Strategic Partnership between Kazakhstan and Georgia.

The two leaders discussed expanding political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, with Tokayev expressing confidence that the new strategic partnership would elevate bilateral relations to a new level.

Earlier, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili had announced that the two countries were preparing to establish a strategic partnership.
