Tehran accuses Europe of complicity

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei accused Europe of being complicit in the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran, criticizing NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte over his recent remarks.

Axar.az reports that, in a post on X, Baghaei said Rutte's repeated statements confirmed that European countries "were not impartial" in the conflict.

"Those who provided their territories, military bases, and infrastructure to enable the aggression cannot evade responsibility for their contribution to an unprovoked aggression and its grave consequences," he wrote.

Baghaei also criticized Rutte personally, saying his "relentless self-congratulation" reflected "the servile mindset of a fawning courtier" rather than strength.

"In Washington's eyes, an ineffective organization cannot be rendered effective through sycophancy, nor can such manipulative flattery ever restore the flatterer's own self-respect and personal integrity," he added.
