Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will pay a visit to Ukraine on July 15-16.
Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, during his visit, Fidan is expected to be received by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and hold meetings with Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Head of the Presidential Office Kirilo Budanov, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov, Crimean Tatar national leader Mustafa Abdulcemil Kirimoglu, and Crimean Tatar Mejlis Chairman Refat Chubarov, among other senior officials.
The talks are expected to focus on strengthening Turkiye-Ukraine relations across a range of sectors, particularly the economy, energy and defense, as well as exploring joint steps to deepen the two countries' strategic partnership.
Fidan is also expected to stress that the Russia-Ukraine war must not spread to the Black Sea, underscoring the importance of reducing tensions and ensuring the safety of maritime navigation.
In this context, he is expected to reaffirm that attacks on Black Sea ports and civilian vessels, including fishing boats, are unacceptable under any circumstances. Fidan is also expected to emphasize that Türkiye will continue its diplomatic efforts to preserve the Black Sea as a region of peace, stability and cooperation.
