UN voices concern over Houthi naval blockade of Saudi Arabia

The United Nations has expressed serious concern over the Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement's declaration of a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia.

Axar.az reports, citing foreign media, that UN Secretary-General's spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said the move poses a threat to freedom of navigation and regional stability.

He called on all parties to immediately de-escalate tensions and resolve their differences through dialogue and diplomacy.

It should be noted that the Houthis announced the naval blockade against Saudi Arabia on July 20.
