Russia expects no thaw with new UK Prime Minister

Russia does not expect relations with the United Kingdom to improve under the country's new Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Axar.az reports according to Russian media, Peskov dismissed the prospect of better ties with London following Burnham's appointment.

"No, we have no such hopes. We do not expect that," Peskov said in response to a relevant question.

On July 20, Andy Burnham, the new leader of the ruling Labour Party, officially took office as the UK's prime minister after receiving a mandate from King Charles III to form a government.
