Russia reports one of year's largest drone attacks

A Ukrainian drone attack on Russia on August 2 was one of the largest strikes since the beginning of the year.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that this information was released by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"During the night, 635 drones were shot down over the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Saratov, Tambov, Tula, Moscow, Crimea, and the Krasnodar region.

Another major Ukrainian drone attack on Russian regions took place on July 24, when air defense systems intercepted 571 Ukrainian drones.

The largest attack of the year so far occurred on June 26, when Russia said 660 drones were destroyed. Another major strike was repelled on June 18, with Russian air defenses shooting down or intercepting 555 drones over Russian regions. On May 17, Russia reported that 556 drones were shot down," the ministry said.
