Zelensky: UAE could help secure Black Sea shipping routes

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) could help Ukraine ensure the security of Black Sea maritime trade routes.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made the remarks after a phone call with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

"We discussed how the UAE can help us in Europe, particularly in the Black Sea region. This concerns food security, the security of maritime routes, and expanding opportunities to protect human lives. We also discussed bilateral projects in various fields. We are working to implement all of this," he said.

He also thanked the UAE for its understanding of the situation and for supporting Ukraine's peace efforts.

"Ukraine always supports those who help us. This year, Ukrainians have made a significant contribution to ensuring the security of our partners in the Gulf region," the president added.
