Morocco's Public Prosecutor has launched an investigation into the crimes and incidents linked to the mass illegal crossing of migrants into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta.
Axar.az reports, citing foreign media, that the announcement was made in a special statement by Morocco's Interior Ministry.
"Within its legal authority, the Public Prosecutor's Office has opened a judicial investigation into the events in Ceuta to establish all the facts, identify those responsible, and take the appropriate legal measures," the statement said.
It should be noted that nearly 70,000 migrants crossed illegally from Morocco into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. According to the latest reports, the death toll from the ensuing clashes has risen to 90.
