Festival-goers have been injured in a crowd crush at a music event in London.

Axar.az informs, citing The Telegraph, that the organisers of Ghana Party in the Park were forced to end the event early after a “major incident” was declared because of overcrowding, police and organisers said.

At least 23 people sustained “non-life threatening injuries”, including three people who were taken to hospital. Footage of the festival showed dozens of emergency vehicles, police officers and an air ambulance on the scene.

Video shared on social media showed people lying on the floor receiving treatment and being taken away by medics after dozens of people piled on top of one another.

Police said the crush had been triggered around 6pm on Saturday after a fire broke out near the main entrance of Copthall Playing Fields in Barnet, causing the gates to be temporarily shut. When they were reopened, a large crowd surged through.
