Gianni Infantino could have received an annual salary of $30 million, or around €26 million, if he had taken charge of FIFA's future commercial company.

Axar.az reports, citing The Times, that as a reminder, FIFA released its financial report in June 2026, which showed that Gianni Infantino received $4.6 million in 2025. The FIFA president would therefore have benefited from a 525% salary increase if the FFE project had been adopted.

A colossal sum that has revived criticism surrounding a project ultimately abandoned under pressure from several major confederations, including UEFA, Concacaf, and the AFC.

For its critics, the FFE would have opened the door to ever-greater commercialization of global football.

FIFA, however, rejects these accusations. The governing body insists that this initiative had only one objective: to increase commercial revenue in order to boost the funds redistributed to its 211 member associations, and not to "sell football."
