Street in Armenian city of Goris named after Iran’s Naein

A street in the Armenian city of Goris has been named after Iran’s city of Nain.

Axar.az reports, citing Iranian media, that a sister-city agreement was signed between Nain and Goris last year. Naming the street after Nain was one of the first concrete steps taken under the agreement.

Iran’s ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, and its consul general in Kapan, Mohammad Abedini Varamin, attended the ceremony.

Abedini said the move was significant for expanding cultural ties between Iran and Armenia.
